  Why do you think these countries are opening doors for people to work for them. Unless GRNA and Tinkorang have forgotten about the important role of certificate and diploma nurses play in achieving UHC strategy.
  
  They should stop this discussion and ficus on fair distribution of staff across the country.

  I am confused here! When has the nursing fraternity as an organized professional body transmogrified and blended as unified body or as part of the Ghana medical and Dental council? I personally don't believe this publication. But, if this is true, when has the concerns of nurses become a headache for doctors?. How much are the doctors paid to serve as PRO for nurses? Is it an exchange program? In fact, for now let me reserve my comments on this.

Every so called professor makes all sorts of suggestions and yet they very unprofessional people as compared to the diploma holders.

Suggestions of this nature should be based on evidence rather than just saying anything just because he is idle.Is he the spokesperson for GNRMA?. It is a common knowledge that the diploma nurses are better practically than the degree-awarded nurses.

  You were the same people that recommended the cancellation of student allowance to the previous government which was a bad idea. Now you know they are coming back to power you foolishly push yourself out again to recommend a bad idea again.

  Its just unfortunate for whole medical officer to mke this suggestion. He should tell me if all medical ifficers are good?. Some certificate/diploma nurses are very good as compared to the degree nurses he should stay in his lane. There should always be a middle level manpower. Even in US they have the license practical nurse in their system, what's he talking about. We should stop counting on mere degree holding mampower in our system. Am a nurse myself, started as certificate, then Diploma before the so called degree. Even though am well equipped its because i have much interested in the profession. I dint think that Doctor knows what is talking about. Most Doctors are not good, are they not holding degrees?. A lot of patients die because of bad Doctors in the system and not because of certificate or diploma nurses in the system. I know a Doctor who always ask his nurses to use their experiences to do the work anytime he is called to see a case., all because he doesn't know what to do meanwhile he holds a degree. This kind of mindset people should be ignored.

  For certificate nursing, I don't think it should be phased out. Look at the names of these certificate courses: Nurse assistant clinical (NAC), Community/Public Health Nurse Assistant. Their very names suggest their roles. Are we also going to scrap the BSc Physician Assistant programme? If yes, then the country can scrap every other certificate nursing programme.
  
  Do not tell me Nigeria has done it so Ghana should follow blindly. There are Nursing Assistants in Korea, Japan, France, Germany, UK, USA, Finland Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and they all have a role to play.
  
  
  Regarding the availability of nursing jobs in Ghana, I would not want to talk about it as every Ghanaian knows that there are nurses who completed their training as far back as 2021 who are still unemployed.

  Certificate and Diploma in nursing are not equivalent for Degree in nursing. Why do we count from one, two, three and so on? As long as there are need for each one and are different levels, why bother?

If anythung at all the diploma nursing could be phased out for degree programs to take over but for goodess sake certificate nursing should remain to fill the beeds of auxiliary nursing which is needed to support nursing care. Kindly rethink your suggestion. Certificate nursing must stay.
