It's not true he won afcon at 17 yrs.
He was born in 1962, won SWAG colts player of the year in 1977, whilst playing for Great Facos in Accra.

He was born in 1962, won SWAG colts player of the year in 1977, whilst playing for Great Facos in Accra.
The late S.K.Mainoo sponsored him to Tamale shs and he started playing for RTU in 1978 at the age of 16 yrs.
He first played for Black Stars in 1981, with his first match against Zaire (Congo DR) in Zaire when Ghana qualified for Afcon 1982 with a 2-2 draw, after a 1-1 draw in Ksi.
That match happened to be the first Black Stars match also for Kwasi Appiah.
Whilst Appiah started the match, Abedi came in as a second half substitute.
Abedi won the Afcon at age 20yrs in 1982.

The Blacks Stars came to play a trail match against Hassacas or Eleven Wise long before they went to Libya Afcon tournament.
I do remember 1 or 2 Black Star players,Kofi Badu and Opoku Nti so Abedi should be above 17 years old when he went to the Libya AFCON in 1982.Tnx.

He was a gem of a player, but very selfish, greedy, destruction, and loved factions in the national team.
