His brother only gave an example of that. Why the insults? Bringing in the usage of the Jubilee House/Flagstaff House should be an argument for another occasion. JJ Rawlings used the same simple quarters in the Osu castle as his sleeping place too (throughout his entire tunure) , when he was the Head of state and president. These are true humble souls. Couldn't anyone have advised the government to ask the minister of housing to sort it out before the end of day, or lose his job? That would have been easier done than ask the president to move house!
And we did not hear any suggesting to get it sorted asap? As a matter of fact, were all the rooms in the castle leaking, such that the president could not have moved into the guest house or some other room in the premises?

The solution was there staring them right in the face yet because of petty politics they decided to remain blind to it. This is a typical example of actions by the enemies of progress. They can’t think beyond their noses. The difference between the enemies of progress and the ‘propagators’ of progress is like night and day. One group will import tigers and elephants into enclosures, feed them to promote 24hr tourism while the other gives skills training to kayayei. Take your pick.

PWD Prestige have always been at the service for all government projects and it never occurred to late Mills and family to just order for leaking roofs to be changed? The Dagomba man may say "Nawuzorgor". It beats my thinking and imagination.

That aside there was a Presidential suite at the Flagstaff House. Again there is a Presidential residence at Cantonments so there is no justification for such an unnecessary move. There were so many options so why this? It would have been better for the family to keep mute over this issue rather than thinking by coming out with such a story people will think late Mills was modest. It sends a completely different signal about him.

Anyway it's past and gone.

It was rejected out of shame not modesty. The late President had critiqued the construction of the Indian funded Jubilee House by Presudent Kufour and his party had taken the que to declare that the facility would not be used, for the Office of the President if Atta Mills won the election. The NDC actually promised to use it as a chicken coop. How could the honourable man who had just surprisingly won the election by 50,000 Votes settle and sleep in the building he rejected and his virulent supports rubbished. So he had a choice to sleep in the leaking chicken coop or the Presidenntial Palace. And of course pride won over reason and shame despite his severe ill health. It seen a respectable thing to do then, but now seem to be reckless populism to please a party, who soon abandoned the idea when he passed away.
