Kwesi Pratt is a man who always talks about matters of less relevance in political developmental context; such as the cost of kenkey and its shrinking size; and he does so perennially, without any known effects. A 3-month or 6-month maternity leave for future parliamentarians is not a matter of any great significance to the ordinary citizen, who is grappling to survive in the current difficult times. Surely, such issues could be taken on board in the distant future, but not now.

The three months is inadequate but six months is too much especially for somebody working for a private firm. It will be difficult for employers to employ child bearing women if this becomes a law.

You have at least three women working in your school,one is teaching class four ,the other one teaching in class six and last one teaches class two. Two of them got pregnant between two months intervals, which means when one should deliver a baby two months head of the other one.look at the space that is going to be created in the classroom. Which means because one baby is going to be born safely so some other children would have to suffer because of six months policy. Oh .so uncle kwesi , where kraa have you guys be getting these ideas from?

Some Africans are stuck in a time warp and keep on shouting these old rhetorics. Africa was not the only place colonized, and was not specified for neo-colonialism either. Others have found ways to go around all these 'hinderances' to make economic developmental progress, yet we remain where we are and keep shouting these archaic positions. Some of Pratt's suggestions driectly clash with each other without that he even knows.
