We all have become victims of trust. Neither a borrower nor a lender be. You will loose your money and your friend. People are just wicked.
How can you give such an amount to 1. Someone who is just a boyfriend of your daughter and 2. You don't even know exactly where he is going? Has this got to do with illiteracy or ignorance or both.
Who in their right mind will loan a borrowed money to someone else. Specially when the person is about to travell out of the country.

You should have been wiser. What makes you think he'll marry your daughter when he succeed overseas. You acted prematurely. There should be a legal contract before giving out the money.
