Everyone who earns some income knows how many people ask you for help in addition to our families. Particularly this year things are so hard that I have found people who are so shy that they wouldn’t want to ask you for anything but they are compelled to ask. You can easily find needy people at church and other places of mass gatherings. But also you can find many who just need something to eat by just looking around even if you don’t go to church. Let’s be one another’s keeper. Whether rich or poor, we are all Ghanaians.

You can supply free medications to those who can't afford it knowing that the medications are going to actual use. There are diabetics, hypertensive, and kidney patients who can benefit from your direct support.

Start up capital is good but loans are even better. Find ways to make folks responsible. Alternatively, build markets to help farmers or clinics for first aid. Our people like money they can consume directly. That is not an investment.

He has decided to do this freely, willingly, and from the heart. What is your problem? Those criticizing here and there, what have you done to help people in need? If we have generous people like this in our society, l think the country would have been a better place than this. Charity giving is done all over the world, and sometimes it is announced before it is done, so as to encourage people who are in need to be there. At the end of the day, if he announce ot or not, the bottom line is that he is helping the poor and the needy one. Nana Amoako, I humbly submit that you fail to understand what others are saying here. Doing charitable works as a Christian is different from non-Christians's. Jesus is our example: he never trumpeted his good deeds to look good before men, though I can't say definitively what the Tobinco boss's motication is. As Christians--I hope you are one or at least claim to be one--we do recognize all the resources we have are from God. We are only stewards of them, not the source of them. Hence, "boasting" about doing this and that for others minimizes God as the source and emphasizes the giver instead. That is why, in doing charitable works, the Bible encourages Christians not to let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. On a much larger point, public declaration of such deeds can be exemplary, namely, to stimulate others to also do good works. Perhaps--and I'm guessing here--it would have appeared less boastful if the man had made the statement that God uses him to help the needy without being unnecessarily specific.
