This is a simple issue of production input, if the local farmers are producing enough sugarcane to feed the factor, why should it import from outside,basic economics….. the farmers should just produce what the factory needs to operate at maximum capacity and make a profit…. No investor will spend USD1 M year to lease a facility and risk shutdowns because of lack of input….. we need to start thinking more rationally and practical in this country.

Indians are very aggressive grabbing jobs opportunities for themselves ONLY and hardly welcome non-Indians into their mist everywhere they go. We have to be careful here. Ghana, can't we manage even ONE sugar processing plant ourselves? The reason given as non-availability of sugar cane does not make sense: are the Indians going to import or bring sugarcane from Indian to process here, in Ghana? What happened to encouraging and supporting farmers to produce same here?

The purpose of every investor is to make money and if the past government did think deep, it would have let the factory operate to end such protest against an investor.

If they succeed fine if they fail there is no one to blame. It will be just another addition to the multiple state managed failures.
