The answer is a simple one; her majesty the Queen of Britain refused to allow the govt of Ghana to send students to Britain to study. This is something no Ghanaian must forget. In those days a black person was not allowed to study in almost every state in the United States. Moreover, the Eastern Bloc countries allowed Ghanaians to study free of charge. The only problem was the language.

"MINISTER" OF YOUTH AND SPORT WHY GHANA DID NOT WIN ONE SINGLE MEDAL? NOT EVEN A BRONZE MEDAL.

EVEN KENYA PLACED 17 ON THE MEDALS TABLE WITH 4 GOLD, 2 SILVER, 5 BRONZE = 11 MEDALS, WHILE GHANA ENDED UP WITH ZERO (0) MEDAL.

THE ANSWER TO THE ABOVE QUESTION IS NOT FARFETCHED.

LIKE GHANA'S ABUNDANT NATURAL RESOURCES, THE MONIES TO BE INVESTED IN DEVELOPING GHANA'S POOR TALENTED YOUTH ARE WHAT GHANA'S LEADERS HAVE BEEN STEALING AND LOOTING LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE.

FOR INSTANCE, A SINGLE GHANAIAN LOCAL CHIEF IS ALLOWED TO CHARTER A PRIVATE JET, LOAD IT WITH GHANA'S GOLD BARS, SELLS THE GOLD BARS, STASHES THE SALES PROCEEDS IN HIS PERSONAL FOREIGN BANK ACCOUNTS, USES SOME TO PURCHASE EXPENSIVE BENTLEY CARS AND TOYOTA SUVs, SHIPS THOSE VEHICLES TO GHANA TAX-FREE, ONLY TO RIDE IN THOSE CARS ON GHANA'S UNPAVED VOLCANIC CRATERED ROADS CALLED POTHOLES.

IF GHANA'S PRESIDENT HAD CONSCIENCE, THAT YOUTH AND SPORTS MINISTER WOULD HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT LONG AGO FOR NO WORK DONE TO JUSTIFY HIS FAT SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES PAYOUTS ALL THESE YEARS. IT'S TAXPAYERS MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN.

GHANA'S LEADERS AND ELDERS HAVE NO CONSCIENCE, SO NONE OF THEM HAVE EVEN DREAMED OF ASKING WHY GHANA NEVER WON A SINGLE MEDAL IN FRANCE. EACH GOLD MEDAL COMES WITH A PRICE AWARD OF US$50,000 TO THE RECIPIENT(S), WHILE SILVER MEDALS COME WITH ABOUT US$30,000 AND BRONZE ABOUT US$25,000. AWARDED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE OLYMPIC ASSOCIATIONS AND NOT THE IOC. IOC AWARDS MEDALS AND PAYS PRICES DIRECTLY TO THE NATIONAL OLYMPIC ASSOCIATIONS.

SUCH AWARDS WOULD NEVER EXIST IN GHANA BECAUSE THE MINISTER AND OTHER POLITICIANS WOULD RATHER HAVE THOSE MONIES IN THEIR PERSONAL FOREIGN BANK ACCOUNTS LIKE THEY WANTED TO TREAT THE BLACK STARS IN BRAZIL.

and Ghanaian track and field athletes. Jamaica, bar none has better athletes than Ghana. They have won more track & field medals at the Olympics than Ghana, which has never won any olympic T&F medals. Don Quarrie who you said has competed with the likes of George Daniels, Stan Allotey, has more Olympic medals than all of them. At the 1976 Summer Olympics he was the gold medallist in the Olympic 200 meters and silver medallist in the Olympic 100 meters. In all, he competed in five Olympic Games and won four Olympic medals during his career. How many Ghanaian T&F athletes can top that. Next time do your research before commenting.
