F-35, F-15, etc are not necessary yet for Ghana Airforce. They are too unnecessarily expensive for our small country. What we have now, ie. K-8, are okay. My only problem is that these aircraft are more than capable to curb terrorists activities in the sub region, however, our Ghana Airforce is just too dormant within the ECOWAS region for my liking. I don't know the long term strategy of the Airforce but engaging in counter offensive activities with these terrorists will offer them the opportunity to test their battle readiness. It happened during the ECOMOG days in the early to mid 90s. Ghana Airforce fighter pilots saw a lot of action. I won't be surprised that even an average drone can surprise our GHana Airforce together with any Air defence Systems (if we even have any).

If yes then may I ask, is the Ghana Airforce really a 'combat capable' unit?
With highly sofisticated terrorist millitias operating along our Northern Borders, our situation seems to be that of 'gross unpreparadness'.
It appears that this country is in a precarious security situation.

Yes indeed it is stated that it is on the K-8 jets, but pleasae, this shouldn't be news. Even I can bet the pilots themselves are embarrassed by this publication. Ghanaian pilots have performed numerous solo flights on type-rated aircraft since 1960. WHAT IS THIS? Aaaaaaall because we have villagers like nitiwul, akuffo-addo tiwuii, kennedy agyepong, etc ruling a country. If a villager noveau-rich fool like ken agyepong can insult and threaten a whole Director General of the Armed Forces Public Relations department on national media, then I am not surprised that this is how low we have sunk. And to make matters worse, the pilots' flying hours have been displayed here. It is a joke to publish that Flight Lieutenants have clocked what? 150hrs and 350hrs? and GNA thinks this is awesome news? Like I stated, I am sure these pilots themselves are embarrassed by this publication. Can the GNA cross check with the Ghana Armed Forces Public relations outfit to know what is worth publishing to the whole ghana populace before publishing? Such news is just okay for in-house military news journals. Please. Tsoooo. No no no.
