When the economic hardship is battling most Ghanaians very hard, NPP claim they have "turned the corner". When all Ghanaians are buying a single finger of plantain at 3 cedis, 4 cedis, etc, the then agric minister Afriyie Akoto was claimed he was buying a whole bunch or comb of plantain for five cedis. In fact, they carried out the so-called planting for food and jobs on cereals but claimed the same programme yielded bumper harvest in plantain ie in NPP's reality, plantain can be classified as cereals when it suits them.
