As a young man in my early twenties at the time, I remember being fascinated by the story and the whole conflict between Rawlings’ government and the US government. It is sad that these stories and patriotism shown by our government at the time don’t get mentioned when we assess the era of JJ. I bet many don’t remember that some CIA agents, Ghanaians included, were also deported from Ghana. Politics has indeed covered a very interesting part of our history. Hopefully, honest historians and eye witnesses would be fair to us and write down accurate accounts of what really happened. JJ introduced participatory politics to Ghanaians, love him or hate him. May he rest in peace.

This status quo in Ghana is a result of the laziness of the fools in power today, whose only mission is to loot the state, and pretend to be self made wealthy people. This guy never had a day job but he was able to get his hands on a good amount of confiscated properties {Trafagar House} that his {Nyebro uncle} took from innocent hardworking citizens. Indeed, ‘naked we came, naked shall we leave this beautiful earth behind.’
I got to know Mike (late) through the late Daniel Kwame Ofori-Atta. The two amigos! With his chain smoking habit, I’m surprised he lived this long. Sleep well, uncle Mike as you were called by the younger ones.
