If the international price per ton is 7000 USD, then this is about 109,000 Ghc so why give them 54,000 ghc? The price per ton at least be 70,000 Ghc ( 70%) of world prices.

I am a cocoa farmers son and l have seen how governments don't really car about the farmers but the worse of them all is thos current NPP, in fact lt costs alot to do a good cocoa farming now in Ghana. We are now trying to build our own irrigation systems in the face of climate change and the galamsey water pollution. It is even difficult to get casual laborers to work on our farms as most of those guys are paid better by the winners. It is sad to read that the main reason for considering to raise the price is not based on the 70% of the world price but rather because of higher prices by neighboring countries to prevent smuggling?That should be a secondary reason. For about a year now the price per bag should have been not less than Gh6000. Wicked and ungrateful leaders.
