Right now you feel very much in control of your life and destiny- I hate to tell you this-YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL OF ANYTHING.
Madam sadly many like you discover rather too late that middle age and old age become a time of terrible loneliness after the children have fled the nest.That is when you will really really start to crave for companionship. That is when you will discover that even if you are still well-to-do at that stage (and that is by no means guaranteed at all especially in your kind of profession) you will discover that your fan base has moved on (Public tastses in music and other arts evolve and change all the time you know).
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE IMPACT OF YOUR DECIOSN ON YOUR CHILDREN. You are teaching them by your actions that natural family ties do not matter and that it is all about me me me (yourself).They will surely follow your example and once they have their own families their relationship with you will be downgraded or relegated to that of an OUTSIDER as they strive live and persue thier independent lives.
Right now I can cont on both hands a number of prominet ladies in diverse fields and professions who used their husband as mere seed corn and then discarded them who are now return home every day to an empty lonely home.Their beuty has long faded away and in some cases their bank accounts have followed a similar trajectory.
LONELINESS ,LACK OF CLOSE COMPANION IN OUR LATTER YEARS CAN BE PURE MISERY.
