Clearly, the would-be assassins are former Trump voters who appear disgruntled by his failures in government and antics in opposition, but are too incompetent to carry out their evil intentions. My own theory is that these disgruntled former Trump supporters were deliberately sought out by elements in the Trump campaign and cultivated to carry out such failed attempts as false flags to bolster Trump at critical moments when the campaign is tanking. Both attempts happened at such moments and the Trump campaign is as dirty as it gets!

His campaign wants to shift the media conversation away from his lies that Haitians are eating people's pets in Springfield. They just found out that there are nearly 800 million Haitians in the US with a right to vote. They need something to rally the Republican base and bring home those disgusted by Trump's rhetoric.
