  A wonderful piece. Since I grew to become aware of things, have never seen the true colour of River Pra. All the villages and townships that are along the river have to drink that dirty water. Are we not Ghanaians? Are those benefitting from that mining better human beings than us? Meanwhile, governments upon governments have ruled this country since Nkrumah time, but nothing has been doneabout thus issue.

  Do you need the ban so the government can renegotiate profits with big companies like Ashanti Gold, Newmont, etc or you want the ban to save us for future crisis. The government sends personnels from minerals commission to the big mines for random inspection, do you know the penalties these big firms pay when they commit an offence even as small as kill a squirrel? Stick to small scale miners coz at this point we can't tell the difference. They're all destroying our water bodies and forests.
