In Ghana, western style democracy has assumed a logic of its won, far removed from the bread and butter existentialities of the Ghanaian people. Just watch and listen to our parliamentarians. In their overs-zed ruffled suites, and their akapompo multicolored tires, they seem like robotic caricatures trying to imitate the overlords of UK parliament. It is nonsensical potemkin of a display.

  Ghana ceases to amaze me. Truly we need 16 Parliamentarians, that is one for each region and not 275 for every constituencies. The primary job of an MP is to formulate laws, support government business, etc etc and not promising to develop the constituency. Our Constitution has made it such that tax payers money are amassed. A vote for 275 MP is like we bless them to go and amass worth. Constituency development should left for DCEs and MCEs. Our Constitution definitely needs review. This was a military Constitution. Rawlings is gone so...The rest is your guess.
