Check when Acheampong came to power and when Nkrumah died all in 1972.. no. 2 He made sure Nkrumah's body was brought to Ghana from Guinea for a fitting burial. Gunea didn't want to release the body so Acheampong has to appeal through the OAU. 3. He continued all the good works Nkrumah was doing and even tried to bring Nkrumah's one party state in the name of Union government ,, [UNIGOV] He even brought Nkrumah's family back from Egypt. 4.The same people who are today telling you they are Nkrumahist were the same people who overthrew him and finally killed him. His government was full of Nkrumah's former ministers. Asiedu Nketia was one of the ring leaders of students demonstration against the union government. Nunu Mensah confess planning of the overthrowing of Acheampong was done in his house. Today he want us to believe he is Nkrumahist. As for his killers the AFRC -PNDC NDC the least said about them the better.

Acheampong allowed the Lebanese and Indians (Dakmak and Captan Brothers at the forefront) to make the country very useless: excessive counterfeiting (passports included), excessive export (without control) of millions foreign cash through the airport, drug trafficking, which means money laundering, hoarding and control of the markets, corruption of Military Officers including Acheampong himself and the Police!

The Lebanese to powerful they could do anything to anyone and get away of it. Their youth behaved as the saw fit (Driving speed using motors and cars along the 37 to Tudu Road) until individual officers who were against the behavior started taking it into their own hands to directly handle the indiscipline.

Ever heard of the notorious "Disco-on-Wheels" before? Luxurious Cars with fridges, sounds systems and TV for Military officers! I saw them. I also saw and ate of the imported assorted canned foods (different kinds of cooked rice, fried chicken, fried turkey etc...) ordered for the benefit of military officers.

Acheampong was very undisciplined, and promoted himself from colonel to general. That's a no-go for any officer and any one who does that is corrupt. That placed on his own back all the junior officers who began plotting to oust him by every means.

I won't talk about his ladies. Acheampong admire little breasts that could go into his mouth. That's my preference, too.

I know this for a fact because all the state's agricultural programs were a fiasco.

I find shallow-minded praise-mongering Ghanaian public irresponsibly stupid for calling development projects for leaders when they were financed from public purse. Why are they in power then? If I am in power, then the initial and final objective should be to elevate or promote public welfare and development.

On the other hand, we MUST hold leaders accountable for corruption and wrongful tutelage and stewardship of this country!

Ignatius Acheampong was grateful to Kwame Nkrumah by overthrowing the Progress Party led by Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia and implementing most of the policies of Kwame Nkrumah and the Convention Peoples' Party.
Acheampong went further reinstated the Young Pioneers which he named African Yought Command (AYC), making it continental with its President a Nigerian and General Secretary a Ghanaian.
He and the late Nigerian leader General Murtala Muhammed continued with the African liberation struggle and he appointed Kofi Ameko a native of Peki as the African Liberation Struggle Coordinator General.
In 1975 all the Portuguese and Spanish colonies in Africa got their independence, but the Saharawi Democratic Republic was occupied by Morroco.
General Murtala Muhammed was assassinated by a CIA organized assassination.
The remaining African countries would have got liberated by 1978 if it had not been for the interference of NATO members who were then supporting the apartheid regimes in Rhodesia, South Africa (Azania) and South West Africa (Namibia).
The CIA managed to put Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings in power and later punished Ignatius Acheampong and members of the National Redemption Council (NRC) for uprooting the fascist regimes in Portugal, Spain and Italy.
Note that NATO quickly admitted those fascist states as its members.
Robert Mugabe got independence for Rhodesia in 1980 as a result of the assistance that North Korea gave to his liberation army the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANUPF).
General Ignatius Acheampong did a lot for Ghana and as is the case always, Africans who tried to liberate Africans from colonial and neocolonial oppression were sold to other Africans by NATO members to assassinate so Ignatius Acheampong was assassinated.

It was not Ignatius Acheampong that enabled Lebanese to take over the Ghanaian manufacturing industry, because it was his time that Tata Brewery, Kowus Motors, Apino Soap, not excluding some of the GIHOC industries which collapsed after the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah were refinanced and they came into the industrial production.
He also made sure that the palm oil industry was expanded, buy assisting individuals and organizations to go into palm trees cultivation. My own organization the African Youth Command (AYC) was having palm plantations across the country.
In 1982 when Jerry John Rawlings returned to power after overthrowing Hila Lyman there was an intensive campaign by U.S. and her European partners who want their sunflower oil to be bought that coconut and palm oil were not good for human consumption.
Today its companies from US and her European partners who are importing coconut and palm products into Ghana.
