The proliferation of One Man Churches which started in 1980 is part of the reason why our economy has not been doing well.Check the unaccountable monies going to individual bank accounts which could have been invested for the benefit of all Ghanaians.Look at the social and religious problems being created by these One Man Churches among families making life so uncomfortable. Ghana never had these problems when we used to have only the Orthodox Churches like Presby,Methodist, Roman,Anglican,COP etc.

Mega churches throughout the world are facing financial challenges as they try to meet the challenges of soaring energy bills ,cost of building material and consumables on the one hand and rapidly falling tithes and offerings from increasingly cash-strapped congregations. So the simplest and most effective way to solve the mounting bills megachurches faces is to downsize them. It is a fact of life that massive auditoriums are very expensive to run and maintain.
What do I mean. The solution: Open more branches within a 10 mile radius and use smaller ,cheaper to run buildings.
There are countless examples of megachurches that faded away once their "charismatic leader" passed on or in some cases when the leader became engulfed in some financial or sexual scandal.
Charismatic leaders should relinquish their hold on these large congregations by splitting them up. Genuine Church leaders that follow this path will watch their overall congregations grow in a healthy way.
Church leaders must never allow themselves to become intoxicated or addicted to the prestige, glamour, fame and wealth that often follow having very large congregations in one locality. They need to decide earlier on whether they are here to serve the Lord first and foremost or here in order to run profitable businesses after taking advantage of their popularity , prominence and celebrity status that comes with their role as "men of God". (Celebrity sports men, musicians, film stars all use their fame to start up businesses etc). I don't recall any of the early Christians and apostles and disciples in the Book of Acts running massive businesses; as a matter of fact most gave up their often profitable professions in order to devote themselves solely to the gospel except perhaps when working with their hands so that they could feed themselves and not be dependent on anybody.

Payment of tithes is an act we do from the heart hence a belief. So if you don't believe it, you will pay but won't get any blessings. And the Word of God doesn't change. So if you can't locate tithes in the New Testament doesn't mean we should abolish it. Tithes help Men of God to spread the Word of God to the end of the earth. And it's not for you to decide what your pastor should use your tithes for. Just obey the Word of God for every act shall appear before God during the Day of Judgement.

I totally blame Christianity and education for galamsey menance in Ghana now polluting water bodies and degrading our environment and forest. Christianity and education have made people so intellectually criminally wise to the extent that common sense is thrown out to the dogs. Our traditional religion thought us to observe certain taboos and norms as a way of protecting our well being and environment but the so called educated people and their all fake christians say NO observing those Taboos and norms were against Christian faith and not scientific. How come those uneducated chiefs and the Traditionalists were able to protect the water bodies and environment for centuries only to be destroyed by the so called christians and the so called educated enlightened people ? Now everybody is crying about the negative effects of galamsey. Indeed everybody is fooling himself or herself in the country notable the so called christians and educated class. Indeed there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between education and knowledge on one hand and common sense on the other.
