Government must realize that the days are gone when farmers were heavily ignorant of world trading and prices in other countries. We share border with Ivory Coast yet they pay farmers a significantly higher amount for the same product. In fact, Ghana's cocoa is better rated in quality than the others yet, government is so wicked and greedy that it wants to eat the sweat of farmers. Better the price and let's see who will smuggle again.

If Togo can pay ghc10,000 for a bag, then our farmers do deserve better than ghc3000. Cut out the red tape, bureaucrats, and corruption. Galamsey would cease to exist if cocoa farmers were paid well .
