  After reading Article 99, I think the two Articles deal with different issues. 97 is on carpet crossing and 99 is on validity of elections.

  The simple legal question is whether an active intention constitutes an act. The MPs intending to be elected as independents have not crossed carpet as yet. They are still with their party until the time of their election and actual cross-over at the point of being on the other side. For now that is all in the realm of intentions not effective act.

  If they register as independent candidates,, it means they have crossed. They cannot hold themselves as NPP in parliament.

  The problems of this country is caused by two individual institutions and they're the lawyers and judges as well as journalists. The constitution says intentions and the intent here is the registration to stand as independent at the EC and doesn't need any writing to the party or whoever. Even in common law the intentions to commit alone is a commital.Lets stop partisan politics and face realities
