They are looking to the next Parliament after elections. Why should the Speaker declare their seats vacant. That clause in the Law must be interpreted clearly to settle all controversies.

The clause is self explanatory. 'Shall vacate his seat' refers to the current seat and not a yet-to-be contested one. In other words, how does one vacate a seat when there is not even the certainty of winning it. JHS students ...

I think the interpretation is wrong. If an MP delacre to go independent, that decision is valid upon completion of the current work. As long as u were engaged as an MP on the current ticket, which has not ended your position ...
