"(g) if he leaves the party of which he was a member at the time of his election to Parliament to join another party or seeks to remain in Parliament as an independent member; or

"(h) if he was elected a member of Parliament as an independent candidate and joins a political party.

Why do you think the speaker erred? I don’t see any error here. Those individuals don’t belong to any of the parliamentary blocks, therefore the majority block that emerges after their departure becomes the majority in parliament.

I am an independent who assess our government’s performance and conduct in office irrespective of the party. I have been more critical of the NDC previously when they were in office. I love my country and loving your country also means being critical of those who are mismanaging the affairs of the country. I would take the same stance if the NDC wins. I will vote for the NDC simply because the NPP has seriously taken the country backwards. We are treading on a dangerous path. Don’t be blind and for once, act to save your country. If this is allowed to happen then Ghana is in deep shit because there will not be any check and balances in our democracy and the judiciary with the accomplice of the executive could turn our democracy into an authoritarian government.
