This is actually despicable! Does anyone with brain matter in their head think Akuffo Addo deserves a statue in his honour? And, if he did at all, why the western region of all places? Why didn't they erect it at Abuakwa where even the streets to the garbage dump are said to have been asphalted? The contractor of the Takoradi interchange recently decided to pull away even the iron rods which were put in place for the construction. What a shame!

For some time now,Sekondi is unable to enstool a Paramount Chief because of litigation in court.
There are some families in Dixcove who claim that the Sekondi stool belongs to them contrary to some families around Sekondi.
According to history,somewhere around 1694,there was a civil war in Sekondi between the British and Dutch where the locals fought along alliance lines.
Majority of soldiers who fought on the Dutch side came from Dixcove,they were able to defeat the English side and so they became a power house.
As a result of this fight,Sekondi was divided into 2 zones,British Sekondi and Dutch Sekondi.
The Dutch Sekondi is still under the control of Dixcove,that's from the Eastern part of Fort Orange all the way to Effia Nkwanta.
In the olden days you need to take permit to cross Effia Nkwanta to Takoradi.There was a barrier for control not too far from the Hospital.
The British Sekondi starts from the Western part of the castle to Essipong.
I think Mr Buah shouldn't waste his precious time on this statue.Tnx.

The last time I checked, John Mahama neglected the burial place of his predecessor the Late President Mills, called Asomdwee Park to deteriorate without any care or maintenance on it. What happened to the nine graves that were dug when Prof died? It was this same Nana Akufo Addo who constructed a befitting mausoleum for President Mills. On July 24 this year, Shameless John Mahama, NDC executives and supporters as well as the brainless family members of Prof Mills went to Asomdwee Park to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the passing of Prof Mills and claimed ownership of Asomdwee park, casting insinuations on Koku Anyidoho, the so vilified person who virtually begged President Akufo Addo to build the mausoleum. Now Kofi Buah recognizes the meaning of a statue of a statesman after they neglected the memory of President Mills for over a decade. What a people called NDC supporters!!!.

Remember Atta Mills? Asomdwee Park was neglected badly for so many years. His own NDC people could not give a damn. And we all know what happened to the Cape Coast Atta Mills Memorial Library. That too was left to rot for so many years.
