  I agree with you perfectly. We have very conservative fund managers. If you do your work well you can have a portfolio allocation that takes care of what the investment policy asks. Don't risk capital because these are pension fund and getting some agreed return to keep things good. This will take care of your performance attribution and you are good. However, what sets you apart is the portion you can always risk. Even as little as 1% can bring very great returns if you enter into places that are characterised by some volatilities. That is where you earn your crown as a good fund manager. Why should we have issues with housing,stock market not doing great, sme's struggling for funding and....
  We are not doing things right! There is so much that can be achieved but we are not being creative enough.
