When he came to office, Ghana was very broke and had to go abegging from the IMF because of how the Military leaders and Nkrumah mismanaged the economy of the country. Things were not on a Silver Platter when he came. Do we remember how workers and student nurses and teachers were not paid for months and allowances have become messed up? He came to inherit Hell.

The cedi had depreciated by 30% after redenomination, i.e. one year after redenomination. he and his government spent nyafu-nyafu as there was not tomorrow. The same way Akufo Addo/Bawumia spent as if the world was ending and here we are. DDEP, inflation at 54%, fuel prices unbelievably high, food prices skyrocketing, etc. As for looting and state capture, forget it. Even Okyehene, etc got GNPC funds to chop, just because a relative is mistakably the president.

The international lenders will either extend your debt payment plan (DPP ) or may choose to cancel your debts partially or entirely
when Ghana went to HIPC - we as a country got debt relieves - what does it mean
it means that some debts were cancelled - that means
if you have to pay 100k every month - they say use that money to develop your country don't pay it.
let us ask ourself how much at all were Ghanas debts when K4 took over power
and how much debt were also cancelled ?
after you have gotten these answers then ask him
what he used the debt relieve money for.
in k4 era Ghana was not servicing any debt- it means that all the money that we suppose to pay to our creditors was in the country - and did k4 use those money wisely ?- the answer is NO
it was at the same time Ghana strike the oil-
now let us debate the oil contracts k4 sign on before of the 29million people of Ghana and see if he help this country or he is the main reason Ghana is suffering today.

I won't entirely blame him because when he conceived the idea of re-denomination it was up to those at that time who were the economic advises to help guide him.
people like this Bawumia sought to have brought the right path to proceed on the policy- because at that time this Bawumia was a deputy BOG governor, what did bawumia and Paul Acquah do '? just strike out 4 zeros and print new currency was the main thing that they did.
I ask my self are these people truly economic students or they just bought their certificate to claim to be ?
if you are a voter who is going to vote in this 7 December elections-
I want you to remember what k4 said in 1996 and 2000 election campaigns that
assess your life, and economic situation - if it is good for you vote for the current governing party candidate ,
if you think your life has been miserable vote against NPP
you are facing economic challenges and severe hardship, because Akuffu Addo and this same Bawumia has borrowed more money but did not use the money to develop your needs but yet still you are going to be asked to pay more taxes so that the debt could be paid.
so now if you are paying more for fuel , electricity and etc ask Akuffu Addo and Bawumia what they used the money they borrowed for ?
eg
mahatma borrowed $240million for terminal 3 , today T3 is in operation and could pay for it dept without asking you to pay more taxes for T3 debt-this is what we called prudent investment

When Kufuor took over the presidency from Rawlings, did you hear what JJ tell Kufuor, he said the money in the treasury can last for only three months which means or sounds what to you, and he is watching how Kufuor will manage the country as it is broke. Kufuor had no choice but to declare HIPIC ease the country out of monetary mess created by JJ and his useless NDC government.

Now, come to the re-denomination, JJ recalled all the 50cedi notes printed by the Acheampong regime citing corruption and the destruction of the economy, and he printed 500, 5000-cedi notes, now, if the 50cedi notes destroyed our economy, what did the big bill he printed do to our economy?

Ghana was destroyed by JJ because he was the only leader who saw that all rich Ghanaians stole from the treasury and should be chased out of the county including the collapsed of businesses. Those stupid and insane moves by JJ sat well with some of you because of some foolish reasons.

What was the reason behind the "Divestiture Implementation Program" which saw the sale of most factories to his cronies. Tamale catering rest house was sold to Huudu Yahaya for just 500,000 cedis which was okay right? How did Nsawan canary become the property of Nana Konadu Agyemang, and remember that, that factory was built by Nkrumah.

However,for political propaganda reasons the previous government refused to declare that the country was drowning in debts. Ghana had gone bankrupt. When businesses go bankrupt they have to declare that fact in order to access any assistance associated with bankruptcy. DECLARE is the key point here.
Therefore what Kufour did WAS TO DECLARE THE FACT THAT GHANA WAS SINKING IN FINANCIAL QUICKSAND in order to access assistance available to all countries who accepted that their countries were highly Indebted.
So Kufour .DID NOT CARRY GHANA INTO HIPC.Ghana was Hipc and Kufour BOLDLY TOOK ALL NECESSARY MEASURES TO ACCESS ASSISTANCE FROM COUNTRIES GHANA WAS INDEBTED TO. Period

With 700 billion nothing to see. No NPP government including the precursor, UP tradition has ever developed Ghana. They share our money among themselves anytime they come to power.
