We know that our structural trade deficit culminates in weaker currency because we import more than we export. What manufactured products do we sell or export to the 1.5 billion consumers on the continent?

Why do we make what we don't consume and consume what we don't produce? Doesn't such behavior lead to imported inflation impacting the exchange rate fluctuations against us? What was the Cedi to the Dollar exchange rate in 1971, 2008, and 2016? Are the global financial downturn and Covid-19 only confined to Ghana?

As erudite, enlightened scholar as you are, how do we re-structure the colonial economy that has sent us to the IMF eighteen times and still counting?
