Sorry, I partially agree. It must be voted on nationally. It should be part of the national election.
I fully agree with Joyce. The position should be advertised with a rigorous selection process. Currently, Ghanaians don't have any confidence in the EC.
What if after the process you have proposed the person has a party affiliation or a sympathizer of a party.
@MoG. People will always sympathize with a party but that shouldn't determine who should occupy the top civil servant positions. We should differentiate between a Ministerial appointment and appointment of technocrats.

The appointment of a person to a position of such prominence should be competitive, meeting certified standards, and not at the wims and caprices of anyone's parochial interests.
The EC ladies are competent but their political appointments dents them. It must change indeed!
