This is contrary, extreme opposite, to Akufo Addo who decided everything for us to swallow hook, line and sinker. They were adamant to listen to those things we told them both in public and in secret.

I suggest you reveal the atrocities JJ and Boakye Gyan meted out to you so that some of us can apologize on their behalf because I don't think you're the only soul left on earth to have experienced the AFRC/PNDC regime.

Then the forestry commission must be made an authority.. the education ministry must be an upgraded to authority to prevent politicians from playing “chaz kerle “ with our humans resources in terms of education. Check if any of the developed countries ever played with our educational systems as we’ve done over the years.
The largest employer in the Ghanaian economy is the private sector. Empower them to be strong and employ more youth with good remunerations. Then only those who wanna serve the people should be employed in the public sector.
You’ve already had in your wealth Ghanaian resources or money. Don’t be greedy to acquire more . Always remember a good name is better than riches. Don’t forget the quote of DMB during the peace pact.
We wish you all the best.
The Anglo-American would be watching you closely if you are gonna hand over Ghana to the Russians or the Chinese

What should be done for a 24hr economy (A citizen’s opinion):
Mr. President, congratulations for wining the election but there is still more work to be done. The depth of this economic and financial pit Ghana has been sunk is colossal and requires consented efforts to dig us out. A pillar to this effect is the 24hr economy but I shudder to think that if you do not grasp it well, it would endure the same fate as the many promises the previous government laid on our tables. I hope you get this piece as a foundation to ensure you succeed in implementing the 24hr economy which can be a long lasting legacy accorded to you and for which you would be remembered.

1. Enabling environment - this should benefit both the private and public sector by providing tax incentives for all institutions running the 24hr economy. Incentives on income tax, VAT, import duty tax etc so that the cost of production is reduced whilst employment is increased with benchmarks to ensure whoever is benefiting from these tax incentives is really running the 24hr economy.

2. Security - provision of a 24hr security at private and public property, factories, institutions and organizations running the 24hr economy. This can be piloted in the major cities in the country where we expect the 24hr economy would be implemented. Police patrols 24hrs a day in these cities. Ensure the Ghana police service has visibility in these cities. The mere presence of intracity police officers would be a deterrent to arm robbery, assault and petty thefts.

3. Power and Water - provision of power and water to such institutions 24hrs without interruptions. This would require dedicated service lines for every organization listed to carry out the 24hr economy.

4. Transport - provision of dedicated transportation or transport service lines for finished products to be carted to the ports to generate export revenue

5. Leadership and organization - provision of a decentralized system for enlisting institutions, organizations, factories willing to enroll on the 24hr economy. This can be achieved by incorporating into our local government structures by providing an office in each region to facilitate the 24hr economy. This would allow monitoring to ensure benchmarks are achieved by these beneficiaries vis a vis other criteria like well being of employees and safety

6. Deterrence - system should be put in place for organizations who benefit from this 24hr package but fail to increase their employee numbers, safety, productivity or export revenue are taken off the list for others that have applied and assessed to have the needed requirement to be enrolled. There should not be partisan politics in this policy else it has failed even before commencement.

Am really certain that you have good intentions and have placed this policy under the office of the president but just as many initiatives held under the office of the president have been abused by corrupt officials please ensure this is a standalone initiative incorporated into our local government structures but the office of the president can have an advisory role with yearly audit by independent bodies. The above are a few steps if well implemented would deliver an improved productivity which has a direct correlation to the economy for the benefit of all of us. My regards on this arduous task ahead.
