Yes a good example of the West "buying" our resources is like that of France who for over 60 years, has been mining and paying Niger around 80 cents for a few ounces of lithium that on the world market is worth over $200 for the same amount. If you multiply this obviously unfair arrangement in thousands of tons a year, what you get is that Niger, one of the poorest countries in the world, is actually giving their lithium to France for free and paying them on top for cheating the poor people of Niger.

The scenario of this arrangement which can be described as sheer theft, is the kind of practice that runs through all our relations with the West. And anybody who endorses this is either a thief himself or is as ignorant as an embryo.

The famous reggae singer, Bob Marley, chides those of us who have suffered from hundreds of years of unceasing slavery and colonial tyranny, to "emancipated ourselves from mental slavery".
