I really cannot understand the NDC. From the onset, they allowed, in the full glare of the public and media, the NPP to outmanouver them as well as other political parties, to pick the number 1 slot on the ballot papers, twice on the trot within minutes. The statistical or even chance possibilities of this occurrence may not be impossible but it is highly remote or unlikely.

Then again came the strange Supreme Court procedure and declaration which sought to usurp the powers of the Speaker of Parliament. Luckily however, the NDC managed to outwit and extricate itself from this unusual situation.

Today, despite the widespread abandonment of the NPP by both its own supporters as well as the voting public, as revealed by the historically overwhelming results in favor of both the new NDC President and number of parliamentary seats, the now totally discredited EC in cahoots with other state institutions reeling under state capture, have redesigned or reconfigurated new ways of circumventing the process to benefit the NPP parliamentary candidates to dishonedtly gain a few more undeserved seats in parliament.

Personally, I cannot understand why the NDC would even bother to refer the matter to the courts instead of insisting on a re-run of the contentious constituencies.

How many pronouncements are going to be made for elections in one constituency.
Election results are to be announced within a stipulated period of time, if that has been done, any pronouncements as a result of court orders must ensure that due process is followed, firstly the security of the ballots cast, representation even over securing the ballots by both parties, lastly whichever office that started the process must complete it. Why do say that the Tema EC office officials handover recollation to EC office elsewhere. The new EC office do the know the background facts to this.
Why wasn't the Court order followed duly with respect to the recollation.
The more time elapses, the more the decision of the people of Tema Central with respect to their choice for representation in Ghana's Parliament becomes questionable.
I believe the EC should just do the honorable thing, allow the parties to go to court on any grievances, maintain the same electoral officers that started to handle the issue of recollation of voted to the end if those officials are to be changed it should be by a court order and not just the EC decision. Truely if i was Ebi Bright, i would also walk out on the process because i would have a list of questions for the EC. The EC should be open for discussions on revoting in Tema Central and this should be done through very responsive means. Organize a series of debates and question times for both candidates to address the various polling stations on a wide number of topic areas and the electorate go back to the ballots.

Listen Mahama: Unless you initiate a constitutional referendum and amend the constitution and carry out sweeping judicial reform, you will be defeated in all your goals!

This NPP trying to subvert the will of the people and rule from the shadows. Mahama, your first act should be to neutralize the Supreme Court by appointing favorable judges to counterbalance the NPP judges! Likewise the High Court.

Meanwhile NDC was rather accusing NPP of training Thugs to disrupt and steal the elections.It has now come to pass that NDC were smart secretly and they were rather recruiting , Training and resourcing these THUGS. It's better EC have annulled these results otherwise it will serve as a bad precedent for future elections where only the strong and the fittest can win elections. Other constituencies where the NDC Thugs never interfered the results were declared fairly like even in war torn constituency like BAWMU.

The NDC was setting a very bad precedent which would have rendered future election totally bloody. The recollation of results must send a loud signal to NDC or any other party that there is no room for violence and arm-twisting in our elections. Those who fail to see this big picture will thank the EC later. God bless our homeland Ghana. It is obvious NDC will lose all the 9 seats, because the violence started when it became clear NDC was losing those seats.

I guess a simple interim announcement telling everybody who was leading out of the partially collated polling stations would have been enough to dispel the crowd. Later, when tension has reduced, the full collation could be done to know the actual winner. There shouldn't have been any declarations at all. Lessons must be learnt for the future
