  These people need to be educated on how to develop broad acre farming....I am aware ,that it costs money for plant and equipment, seed and fertiliser....but they need to look outside the square, and do collective farming, where a community Poole's resources .
  But doing one property at a time ,of say 20 acres
  planting maize or tomatoes....pineapples etc.
  IF YOU WANT TO REDUCE YOUR COSTS.....INCREASE YOUR PRODUCTION, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE MONEY.
  AND AS EACH FARM SHOWS A PROFIT ,YOU MOVE ONTO ANOTHER FARM AND DO THE SAME ,AND PLANT BROAD ACRE CROPS..
  IT CAN BE DONE ONLY IF YOU HAVE A COMMUNITY THAT WILL PULL TOGETHER.
  THE ITALIANS DO IT .....ITS A FAMILY THING,, IN THE END EVERYONE PROSPERS

  Many Ghanaian business people who are fixated on imports of food are hesitant to go into commercial cultivation of those items that can be produced locally. The millions of Cedis they are hoarding could be channelled into commercial farming and add value to the produce. Experience has taught Ghanaians that anytime the government makes funds available to support small and medium sized enterprises in agriculture sector, the said funds are siphoned into individual pockets. The private sector is best suited to modernize our agricultural sector and must be given all the necessary support to venture into agribusiness. Extension Services are supposed to support farmers and rural communities by providing them with valuable knowledge, training and resources to improve agricultural practices
  and livelihoods. Are our extension services doing effective work? How often do we measure their effectiveness ?
