The mark of a strong great leader is NOT measured by how many people he knocks down but the people he lifts up. Jimmy Carter was the embodiment and the epitome of just that. His presidency was just a small notch on his belt. He did not use this privilege to bully people, issue tariff threats, threaten country take overs, commanding people to get up for a handshake, flaunting wealth at east Legon or Manhyia. As a non-bible thumping Christian, he just walked the walk to let his light shine. The former peanut farmer used his position NOT to corruptibly defraud people, but to the service of the least of humanity... I am pretty sure heaven is smiling at you with an empty seat waiting at the right-hand of God to be filled by his faithful servant. Whatever you lost on earth has been gained in heaven. Rest In perfect Peace Mr. President.

One American President l admired so so much. He had both domestic and foreign difficulties during his tenure but had an enhanced image several years into his retirement as former US President. His human rights record unparalleled by any US President.
Two things that initially got me to follow his activities.
1. The family entertained their black servants in the parlour when it simply unthinkable during those times which was widely abhorred by their white neighbours.
2. When a pro segregationist of public schools approached Mr Carter for a symbolic donation of 1 dollar towards a project which the one wanted even to make the donation on behalf of Mr Carter, this was what he said; " If I could lay hands on that dollar, I will flush it down the toilet " What a genuine man!
Any other reason why he lived more than 100 years?

I remember his visit to Ghana and when he attended church at Calvary Baptist Church at circle where I was a member. A God fearing and humple person. RIP former president Carter.

If my memory serves me right, the late Jimmy Carter came with Andrew Young and accompanied by the late Kwesi Botwe.
