This was the role of all the Bible Prophets of old .Prophets also through the enablement of God's spirit warned ancient Israel and even pagan nations throughout the ages to prepare in order to protect themselves from impending famine, war, and other natural and man-made disasters but generally these were never the main function of prophets. The priority of Prophets was always to warn people and nations to repent in order to avoid these calamities. THEY WERE CERTAINLY NOT SOOTHSAYERS AS THE PRESENT DAY GHANAIAN "PROPHETS" SEEM TO BE.THE VAST MAJORITY OF OUR "PROPHETS" SEEM TO OPERATE IN THE POLITICAL SPHERES ONLY- THE SO-CALLED "ELECTION PROPHETS"
Being a true Prophet of God in Bible times and even the earl Christian era was a very hazardous profession because their role often involved calling out the evil behavior of powerful people and those in authority and as a result many a prophet suffered terrible persecution , torture and some were even killed.
THE PROBLEM WE HAVE IN GHANA TODAY IS THAT MANY PEOPLE TEND TO HAVE RATHER SHORT MEMORIES AND THE FOLLOWERS OF THIS CHAP AND MANY OTHERS LIKE HIM WILL EITHER IGNORE THESE OUTRAGEOUS MISTAKES OR SIMPLY CHOOSE TO OVERLOOK THESE ERRORS.
For many Ghanaians and other fellow Africans they simply can't face the possibility that the wealthy "Men of God" they claim to follow are wrong, or are outright charlatans who live off their gullible followers. This is because the emotional trauma that accompanies this realization would be too much for them to bear. A basic lack of knowledge of the Holy Scriptures is the main reason so many fall for these charlatans.
