  Hm, very disheartening to see this, after all the efforts and toils, money he invested in cultivating the yam, the fertilizer, the irrigation etc This person has lost everything. Too bad to even think about.

  I feel sad for the Gentleman. I have been involved in Yams farm before. It is not an easy job. Bending down to make the mounds for the Yams to be planted is killing. And then planting stakes for the climbing of the stems of the planted Yams is not easy. I really feel sad for the man.
  One thing I learned at Tamale was that farmers don’t need one big barn for the whole harvested Yam. A farmer can have more than five barns in a farm and ensure that weeds don’t grow near them because weeds become catalysts for wild fire when the Harmattan sets in and they become dry.
  It is also good not to have barns in the farms. Farmers can carry the Yam home and make barns for them.
  One serious thing that I learned at Tamale was that bush burning to hunt for Bushmeat should be banned when the Yams get matured and dried. Wildfire hunting is the commonest cause of burning Yam barns. I really empathize with the person. Can our Politicians and various religious organizations help him to survive and settle down.
  In Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, Eastern, and parts of Middle Volta Region, it is not Yams that get burned but Cocoa farms. Can a Website and Bank Account be opened for him so that concerned people can make Widower’s mite into such an account to help him? That account should be managed by him and his family and very respected people in the community? I am saying this because I don’t trust my people. Some people may try to dupe him out of any such an account. Mahama, Jane, Akuffo Addo, Bawumia, and NAPO, can you please help him. If any account is opened for him, place it on Ghanaweb and other media for kind people to contribute to help him. Help is what he needs now.

  Our beloved farmers need help but no government has ever tried to look into their problems. Our ministry of agriculture never seem to have tried to talk about what they face in the ministry. TOO BAD.
