  Not paying National Service personnel for months did not start at Akuffo Addo’s time. The situation was even worse at the time of Emperor Efo Jeremiah John Rawlings. I was posted to Tamale for my National Service and for a whole year, we were paid on only two occasions. That was pretty sad especially for the ladies who were taken advantage of by stupid and greedy matured men for just the food they shall eat. This has been a chronic problem for National Service Personnel. Imagine being from the South and posted to the Upper West and East parts of the country and not paid t buy food to eat. It was just horrible. I don’t know why Service Personnel can’t be included in the National Budget Planning. If we have a Service Secretariat, then naturally there should be a budget for it.
