These parents are joking. Even when little children are stolen as babies and brought up by someone else, history has proven that you can't just walk into the child's life as a parent when that child is say in his teens. As far as the child is concerned, he only knows the kidnappers as his parents. Even when it's proven in court that it's your child, forcing that child to accept you as parents never works. The child will just become unhappy and confused and even see you as an enemy, especially if you want to prosecute the only parents he knows who brought him up. At best, all these parents can do is to befriend the boy with the help of their other son. They can never replace the parents he knows.

I think this issue calls for national policy and program to establish child care homes across every District in this country manage by the state so that parents or women who deliver and due to financial difficulties are unable to care for the child release the child for the state to take care of such child.
But the lady could have reported her difficulties and challenges of taking care of the child to a pastor, chief or any person in authority for help and advice rather than conspiring with midwife to sell one of the children which is a crime.
No matter how hungry you are, you cannot kill your child and cook to eat. So being in financial difficulties does not justify the sale of the innocent child.
