How can the new Standing Orders give powers to the Speaker to suspend an MP? This is an illegality. The House of Parliament must operate in accordance with the constitution of Ghana. Nobody should be punished without knowing his offense and being given an opportunity to defend himself. This kind of impunity and reckless use of powers produce tyrants. It is not surprising that most of these people received double salaries. This was a criminal act. But they have been emboldened by stupid comments like that from Cletus Avoka. Unfortunately if they had been prosecuted, the charges would have been dropped. It is a pity that criminals including people who took double salaries are making noise in Ghana. The thieves have been made Ministers of State and other juicy positions. Definitely they will steal more
