I don't believe that the FGM has achieved its purpose. I lived in the 3 old northern regions for 3 years and I can confirm that girls and ladies in these regions like sex at their early ages, maybe, more than their counterparts in the south. Unlike the south, parental control in the northern regions is not as strong as compared to the south. Girls and ladies are free and move freely. With the aid of motorbikes, they go wherever and do all manner of things and come back home innocently. Why is it that girls and ladies from the north give birth earlier and even more than those down south despite the FGM which is supposed to kill their feelings? FGM hasn't achieved its purpose and must be stopped now. It is cruel, primitive, painful and dehumanizing.

Is Northern Ghana made up of one tribe or community? The majority of people in the north have never heard of FGM and may not believe such a practice exist anywhere in the world.
