Your analysis appears contradictory. Bawumia is a fine gentleman by all standards. However, it appears that the electorate who are muslims tilt towards the NDC. Muslims are more likely to vote NDC. Why has the NPP never won the Nima Mamobi enclave? Why is Muntaka unbeatable in Asawase(an NPP stronghold). For Bawumia or any other muslim candidate to win on the NPP ticket a lot of work would have to be done in Muslim and to a certain extent Northern immigrant communities.

The major reasons were economic and governance issues which were beyond the scope of the Vice President. Moreover NDC also had a very potent propaganda machinery.
