The more serious problem is not really about who and who is appointed. It is about the reasons for which people are appointed. Political parties in this country do not appoint members of their flock to high office on the basis of what they can do to move this country forward. Political appointments have become part of a reward system for cronies and vocal critics of a previous govt. It seems like even when they are appointed, they are not expected to accomplish anything but to just be there and qenjoy the perks of office, steal as much as they can and even given royal handshakes of unbelievable amounts of money for an economically disabled nation, after their tenure. The whole scenario cuts a classic picture of special needs children left on their own to play in a school compound.

Much as we should all be relieved and grateful at the recent change of govt, one can easily observe that apart from a handful of appointees who appear promising, the rest of them are over the moon by the fact that they have been given a ticket for a ride on the gravy train of govt.
