Please do not degrade the acronym, FDA. In the US, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a highly respected Agency which was noted amongst other achievements to have prevented Thalidomide from getting into the US from Europe in the 1970s. Our country's fda is probably a paper-tiger of 'bribe-takers' and other corrupt government officials who probably connive with our 'world-number-one corrupt police force and port officials' to deliberately let in illegal drugs. Most of our officials, including the politicians, judges and even the people in our country just want to make money at all cost. It does not matter to them whether that negligence of duty could even lead to their own deaths; they just have to make that little 'dirty money'. Here in Ghana, you cannot find ten (10) honest people! Yes, ten (10)!! And there is no law and order!!! What else is new for a 'shit-hole country' like ours?

A passport should be earned. When we go to Europe and America do we get a visa just like that. Stop it.

A friend in Takoradi was made to pay Ghc5000 bribe to FDA officials in somewhere May 2024 claiming they had violated the law. Their Regional boss is actively involved in the extortion. Prez Mahama should instruct the NIB to investigate this body. It operates not in the interest of the state. That corrupt Regional boss will be on retirement by now.
