Chai..I was touring some parts of Accra this week and the biggest problem is the road networks..the road network is so bad..celebrating independence is equally like celebrating failure..independence and freedom is good, but we should be celebrating independence with full development..Celebrating so-called independence with terrible roads, high cost of living and poor citizens is nothing but shameful..Tweakai

I just watched the 6 March parade on TV and I didn't see our military veterans among the continents. Who committed that blunder to exclude the veterans who laid down their lives? If there should be just one Contingent because we want to cut down on cost, that single Contingent should be veterans and not soldiers in service. What was the contribution of serving soldiers to the nation's independence struggle? The anniversary parade is not about who can march best. It's about rewriting our independence struggle history and the roles played by others. Veterans are indispensable part of independence anniversaries in countries such a Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi etc and it's a recognition of the sacrifices made by veterans to their independence. Our veterans could have been given a role in the celebration despite the limited space. The military should NOT be allowed to continue to sideline our veterans in such a celebration. Tell me, what is the relevance of the serving soldiers on parade?
