  If ECG debt collection is given to another company it will be making money and be milking ECG.One other reason why ECG is in trouble is unnecessary purchases.

  In Akim Oda I requested for a prepaid meter becouse i hate ECG officials coming to my house every month with strange bills. I was told they were changing them in phases so I have to apply since they have not gotten to my area over a month now they have not brought the meter. The meters are there but they are reluctant to replace them for reasons best known to them. There should be some form of privatisation to ensure efficiency. The staff are the problem.

  We are saying that ECG should have private participation to be more serious. That is Public Private Partnership. Running state institution is expensive because of the huge financial outlay. There will be limited and unnecessary government interferences too. We are looking at all state institutions like VRA , TOR, ECG, GRIDCO and others. It is long overdue. Thank you.

  The maintenance unit of ECG is the most problematic area. Their maintenance culture is poor and customer service not much better. Instead of concentrating on debt collection or payment which can be easily done by prepaid meters, ECG need to privatise and sub contract the maintenance and repairs unit to better meet the need of the people

  When will our leaders learn sense, they know how to spend money but they don't know how to mobilise money . Our leaders are not fit to occupy the seat of government. Simple things to implement is a problem. They know using pre-paid won't help them steal if not what prevent them from implementing this simple and cost effective.
