  Burning of excavators is just as savage and barbaric as reckless destruction of the environment instead of seizing them for use to restore the destroyed the land. They can also be disposed of in honest manner (not what we saw in the previous government) and using the proceeds for local schools, community water and other needs.

  Coming from Nzema East, we faced serious high tide problems at at our beaches in Axim.. I kept talking about this until Nana Addo came to construct break waters for us. Today almost 150m in width of sea front area has been reclaimed as land with cold stores and other small business houses built on them. The breakwaters has also given the fishermen nice and safe landing facilities that make their work easier while at the same time turning the whole town into a city. Keta need something similar,. Keta and all the adjoining villages can have separate break waters technically connected together into a very beautiful architecture scene, while serving a very important erosion defence, Tourism, hospitality and inland fishing purpose. A long Break waters that will turn the sea front from a curse to a big blessing.

  Why burn excavators seized during illegal galamsey operations? Is that the most appropriate deterrent? Fools . Why not send these excavators to the ministry of roads and highways so that they can be put to good use to build our road infrastructure. What is the sense in destroying something that can be utilized? Think outside the box . Ghanaians are smarter than this.

  Galamsey can never be stopped in Ghana unless the government prohibit the use of excavators for mining by small scale miners. Where in the world do small scale miners use excavators in their mining activities? It's the government that has given permission to illegal miners to use excavators to destroy forest reserves farmlands and water bodies in the country. If the government seriously wants to ban galamsey in Ghana, then it should stop the use of excavators by illegal miners in the country
