  My friend, the issue is not, as you think, complex at all. If you, as an individual can brainstorm on your own to come out with recommendations, why can the Minerals Commission CEO not do same with the support of a whole institution?
  
  The issue is to get whatever needs to be done, effectively done, so that we can save hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people of this country from an extremely perilous situation.
  
  Typically, Ghanaians are not taking this galamsey threat that has the potential to wipe out a frightening percentage of the Ghanaian population, serious.
  
  I vividly recollect the Akufo Addo appointed CEO coming on air daily, after irresponsibly doling out hundreds more licences for small-scale mining just before the elections. In these presentations he sought to make doubtful claims that the livelihood of over 50,000 small scall miners would be put at risk if govt took the necessary action that needed to be taken to save the lives of possibly, millions of Ghanaians who would inevitably die slow painful deaths from cyanide and lead poisoning in the near and far-off future. I have heard other equally inconsiderate defenders of this galamsey threat quoting that there are over three million Ghanaians involved in small scale mining. I say, if these figures were anywhere near the truth, there would be no unemployment in this country.
  
  Beyond that. I wish to caution the vulnerable young men and women who are regularly filmed standing knee-deep in poisoned galamsey pits that from hence they should not look forward to a healthy lifespan stretching beyond the next 10 to 20 years.

  New leadership with a mandate may be the solution with the relevant stakeholders involved.If you don't stay in s place with the menace you underestimate the complexity of the issue.

  The only time during President Nana Addo's tenure that the elicit galamsey actitivities was vitually brought to a stop and our water bodies started gaining semblemce of normallcy was when NANA ADDO and the then NPP Goverment decided to burn any EXCAVATOR found on any galamsey site and prompto!, excavators were promptly removed from the forest and river bodies and sanity was being restored then the so xalled IMANI and other CSO' s, Media including newsfile, Chiefs and other
  Prominent people who should know better but suspect themselves neck deep in this nefareous activity roared at the Government and they also sheepishly bowed down to the pressure aand tge results is what we are witnessing.
  Galamsey has now gone gear up with the new NDC Goverment taking over and their supporters now boldly executing the galamey with vim,especially with President Mahama's instruction for Excavatirs not to be burnt on site.
  SOLUTIONS:
  1 . ANY EXCACATOR FOUND IN ANY GALAMSEY SITE SHOULD BE BURNT
  2 ANY DCE, POLICE COMMANDER WHOSE JURISDICTION GALAMSEY SITE IS FOUND SHOULD BE DISMISSED IMMEDEATELY
  3.ANY CHIEF FOUND TO HAVE GIVEN LAND OR INVOLVED IN ANY GALAMSEY ACTIVITIES SHOULD BE DESTOOLED
  4.ANY LEGALLY ISSUED MINING PERMIT SHOULD INCORPORATE A BOND TO BE PAID AND COLLECTED BACK ONCE WORK IS COMPLETED AND DEGRADED LAND IS RECLAMED.
  5. STRICTLY DEPOLITISE GALAMSEY DISCUSSIONS AND EFFORTS TOWARDS IT TOTAL ERADICATION.
  
  Finally, we should know as a country that our entie life depends on winning this fight. NO MORE POLITICS, ENOUGH US ENOUGH!
