Suggestions made by Northern born Ghanaians in the diaspora have not been acknowledged but like beggars we want somebody else to come and save us.Nothing done by a Ghanaian is acknowledged or accepted by another Ghanaian unless a foreigner is involved. Educational institutions shouldn’t be established based on religious affiliations. The minister of education Haruna Iddrisu has no business asking the government of Indonesia to establish an Islamic university in the north. Education is universal and this request is out of place . Is the Islamic university going to cater only to Muslim students or all students with diverse religions backgrounds? Will graduates from this university be serving only Muslim patients or all patients? Do you have to be a Muslim before you can gain admission to that university? Ghana needs more medical universities and they should be for every qualified students .

Indonesia also needs more medical universities, presumably even more than Ghana because of its huge population. Do not turn the country into a laughing stock. It is clear that matured and experienced politicians / educated elders should head ministries and other state institutions while younger ones act as deputies. And it is actually not about age, but rather about sophistication and depth of world view. Looks like some of our leaders freak out when they see light skinned officials in anticipation of financial bonanza. The mindset has still not been decoupled from colonial toxicity.
