I only beg to differ on the name “ Legon” . I thought the name was coined by the Gas who referred to the university college there (at that time during the colonial era ) as “ ni le gon no” to mean the hill of studies.

Ga is tonal so depending on how you pronounce a word, it can mean one or the other ...eg Le means knowledge,studies but it's also the name of an animal in the ruminant family. Gon means hill,mountain. What's wrong with GaDangbes calling a place after a dominant native grazing - browser ruminant species found there,then later the place being given for development of a world class University. Coincidentally, the word le also aligns perfectly with the core function of this established institution.
