  General Thomas Yaw Oppong-Peprah has had a distinguished career in the Armed Forces and retires honourably after thirty-nine years of service.
  
  Commissioned on August 16, 1986 into the Armoured Corps as a Second Lieutenant, he is the second officer from that unit after Major-General Daniel Kwao Addo of blessed memory to be elevated to the position of Chief of Defence Staff.

  He was ungrateful to those who made him who he became. Very brilliant officers were sacrificed and made to go home on retirement to pave way for his progression yet he betrayed to hang on and he failed because Mahama is smarter than he and Dampare. The only reset I need from our leaders is to ensure that the youths must not pay monies to get employment in to the security services and the civil services. ORAL should revisit and those who payed before getting jobs testify to punish those who did so

  Akufo addo abused his power by appointing this man to General. That's wrong. Akufo addo decided to do promote this guy just to make him happy and at par with foreign Generals who actually deserve that rank because of the might of their armies. Even JJ Rawlings did not abuse his power to send anyone to General. Most of his officers stopped at Lieutenant General. If Rawlings was as corrupt as Akufo addo he would even have returned to the air force and given himself a higher rank. Akufo addo's conduct is like Col Gaddafi and Idi Amin.
