The problem in Ghana, and Africa as a whole is that, we do not have politicians who have conscience and understand what it takes to be a politician, that to be a politician is to serve the people, with sacrifices and commitment. A typical Ghanaian politician, from all the parties, wants to be worshipped, put on a pedestal and treated with special care. They regard corruption, incompetence and shamelessness as a birthright that no one should talk about. Mahama only came to power just because Akkufo-Addo proved to be worse than him in corruption and incompetence. So only God can bring about any change in the conscience of these scoundrel politicians to do the right thing. I thought, galamsey was going to be the first priority to put things right. Unfortunately, it is the turn of the NDC political nincompoops to steal and ravage the economy, and quintessential Mahama will look on without doing anything. Mahama has the chance to prove himself as a statesman. Unfortunately, he is just like Akkufo-Addo, only taller.

Unfortunately we have not seen any concrete steps taking so far towards the fight against illegal mining (galamsey)
What is even more dangerous is the attempt by government to amend some laws regarding illegal mining (galamsey) to give licenses to companies or NDC people to do responsible mining in some forests. Eiiiiii. Mr Mahama was that what you told Ghanaians? It is right therefore, in my opinion for Barker to say the lazy attitude of the NDC as a government to fight against illegal mining (galamsey) will undo them if they are not careful.

They always play smart on citizens by taking advantage of the illiterates and people who cannot decode sentence to make meaningful statement. What does it take to stop galamsey. In Europe, the rules are clear "go by the rules of the country and be safe". In Ghana, unscrupulous people will still praise them like ' the government needs time, give the government time, why the other government couldn't stop, and others '. You will be in that country till thy kingdom come and nothing good will come out of the leader. It is the reason why most youth want to travel to Europe. If those countries were as unthinkable as the leaders in Ghana, would they come to Europe for good health care, better educational programs, send their children outside Ghana for better education? But Ghanaians will still back them on what they do because they belong to that political party. Ask any politician you know and am telling you that whenever they come to Europe, they are treated like any other people. No special treatment and need to go by their laws. Oh! Ghana, when will citizens be wise?
