As a leader, sometimes you need to take drastic and harsh decisions; but all for the collective good of the general populace. All the methods of punishment stated in our laws have failed. What do you do to get results? Social change across centuries have not been achieved with a piece of paper. Indeed violence has been a major component of major social change in our history as humans. There’s always been extremes.

There’s a reason Trotro drivers don’t fool around Burna Camp but do same at Lapaz; though the law covers both areas. When they behave properly at Burna camp, it’s not because they believe the soldiers will arrest them and arraign them before courts as the law prescribes. Not at all. It’s because of something else.

As a leader , you need the know the nature of your people and what works for them. The KMA should have implemented this as a covert operation. No need to announce it on radio and cause panic. But on the grounds , have your task force whipping people. When they call you on radio; by all means deny that you sanctioned it . It’s a lie. And so what? Don’t politicians lie to us everyday? They lie and steal from us with inflated contracts . All those lies they’ve told us for decades have been for their own benefits. If this lie is going to make our streets clean ; it’s worth it.

Now to you crying out about how it’s not acceptable. He can’t beat anyone bla bla bla. If you saw them whip a man for crossing the highway when there was a pedestrian footbridge just above him; tell me honestly, would you think of crossing that street? But haven’t you glaringly committed this same act nd others like littering the streets many such times eve though ours laws prescribe punishments against them?

It’s 2025, nobody is hearing about laws and human rights for the first time. Even the two month old baby has heard of human rights and bye laws . Have they worked in our cities? Hawkers and street vendors take over the pedestrian walk ways at lapaz and they insult you if you mistakenly step on their wares. You are forced to walked on the shoulders of the road ; endangering your life.

If we’d have a functioning city at the expense of a few whips at the bum or back of rowdy men and women(all of us) ; ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT
